Escarpment Renewables is Miller Waste's green energy facility in Grimsby, Ontario where we transform organic waste from municipal, commercial, and industrial sources into renewable energy and anaerobic digestate, a high-value alternative to traditional fertilizer for local farms.
Our operation creates a sustainable loop between food, waste, and energy that reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and allow us to return the value of organic matter to the earth.

What we produce
We recover organic matter from food and beverage waste and use it as feedstock for micro-organisms, which digests the material and release biogas and anaerobic digestate as by-products.
Digestate is locally produced and not subject to the same delays that can affect the availability and price of traditional commercial fertilizer.
It’s Sustainable
Anaerobic digestion returns the value of nutrient-rich organic waste to the earth where it supports the growth of crops for our future food supply instead of decomposing in a landfill.
It Boosts Soil Health
In addition to helping plants grow, digestate conditions soil and improves its ability to retain moisture, resist run-off and erosion, anchor plant roots, and more.
